RUN WHAT YA BRUNG ADDED TO FALL JAMBOREE
Myerstown PA, October 21st, 2011: The November 5th Fall Jamboree slated for action at New Egypt Speedway will see the addition of the Jersey Jam 25,that being a Run What Ya Brung race that will have limited rules other than a minimum 100" wheelbase and no wings or panels extending past the bumpers and side rails. All cars must be NJ State inspected. Drag rubber, fuel injection, engine size, sail panels, wings, Plexiglas panels, it's up to the imagination of the teams. A winners share of $2000 is on the line with $1000 for 2nd and $700 for 3rd.Taking the green will see a $150 pay envelope.
Joining the open class racers will be the SpeedSTR's which will take part in the day's activities with the Trifecta 15,3-15 lap main events, with $650 to win each. The Canadian teams are planning a southern assault as there are currently 8 teams contacting Speedway Entertainment to give notice they will make the 10 hour ride to duke it out with their southern rivals. The SpeedSTR National Championship is on the line with Yannick Poirier leading the charge. Rich Tobias ,who is second in points will set aside his driving duties to oversee all racing activity for the day. Langhorne, Pa's Kyle Hieber, Canadian tour winner Brittany Wixon and Lebanon, PA's Paul Lotier,Jr. have a mathematical chance in taking the crown away from Poirier.
The Slingshots will get plenty of big track time as the Pit Stop Challenge 20 will see a stop at halfway. A right rear tire must be changed and the run to the checkpoint will determine the starting lineup for the second half. This race will also be used for teams wanting PSC points towards the Elite 11 All Star National Championship. A Daylight Savings 12 has been added for the Slingshots giving the teams another race to garner some added dollars.
Not to be left out are the Legends cars as the Pedal to the Metal 20 will be slotted in between the Slingshot events with no big cars getting any track time until the Slingshots and Legends have their events completed. A $500 top prize is on the line for the Legends and after their run at Penn Can in September, they can put on quite a show.
Rounding out the day's itinerary will be the Great American Enduro 100.This will crown the champions in the Big Car Class and the Small Car Class as all Enduro cars run together but are scored and paid separately. Mark Naftzinger is clinging to a slight point lead in the Big Car Class over Bill Stockert and Tom Wolf. The 4cylinders are currently being led by John Crosby.
Racing gets underway with a 12:15 hot lap session. Pit gates open at 10AM,grandstand gates at 11 AM. Admission prices will be $20 (12-60) $15 (over 60 and military) 11& under free Pit passes will be $30
